I have heard about cooking bacon in the oven, so thought I would give it a try.

Place your bacon on a tinfoil covered pan or on a rack over a tinfoil covered pan, and place in the oven. Turn to 400 degrees and wait.

Patiently......

Picture
Check on your bacon, about 10 minutes in. Should be looking nice and getting brown and crispy.

Picture
Check back, bacon should be done after approx. 15 - 20 minutes, depending on how thick your bacon is. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Add your bacon to some bread with some lettuce and tomato and mayo and enjoy your oven baked BLT!!

After our lunch, off to work. Today we took some photos of the newest poncho pattern.

I have started cooking my bacon like this for the last year or so. So nice to not have a greasy splattered mess on the stove. YUM, nothing quite like a BLT with fresh garden tomatoes! Thanks for visiting my blog.
hugs,
Jann

I love making bacon in the oven, but Sexy Nerd doesn't let me anymore. He says the grease spatters and whenever he turns on the oven afterward, it "makes the house stink like bacon." Uhhh...bacon smells awesome, right? :)

I have to agree, bacon smells awesome. Weird that he doesn't like it.

It is weird that I'm a sort-of vegetarian (I eat chicken and turkey if I cook it myself) and yet I felt compelled to click on and read this post? Love the poncho!

I imagine it would work with turkey bacon too. Thanks for visiting us.

Love your directions on baking bacon! I'll be trying this next time to avoid all that mess of frying. I always feel like I smell like the bacon!!

Blessings, Edie Marie

Not just the mess on the stove, it gets all over your shirt and glasses (if you wear them). But gotta have bacon, it is it's own food group lol
