You may have seen the post where we made a purse for the doll. I also wanted to make something else but my sewing skills are not up to making an outfit so decided to make a blanket! Every doll has to sleep sometime!
Then rumaged in the scrap cloth I have to find a nice backing (you will see that later).
Using pins (yeah I don't always use those but did this time lol) I overlapped the jeans about an inch so that I could have some fringe on the front. I love jean fringe!

Hope this makes sense!! When all the strips were sewn together, I chunked it in the wash for a few rounds to encourage the fringe. I ended also pulling some threads by hand until I got the look I wanted. Next, I cut the backing cloth to the size of the jean front and pinned them right sides together. I sewed around leaving a gap on one side for turning. After ironing, I sewed a 1/4 in seam around the whole edge, securing that turning spot closed. Lovely little blanket! And if you don't count the washing and picking of threads, it only took about an hour to make! So quick too. Good luck to everyone entering the giveaway!
