My house has a 100+ year pin oak out front and a wild cherry tree and mulberry tree in the back. Not only do we get a lot of leaves each year but we get a lot of sticks and branches too! On Saturday we took a load of fallen branches and sticks to Uncle's for a bonfire! We had accumulated quite a load, several storms passing by knocked out many large limbs and zillions of small ones.
We drove the old Goat out to Lin's after filling it up. Unfortunately we didn't think to pile the sticks onto a tarp to easily pull the load out of the truck, so we had to unload by hand.
(First picture above shows the bonfire going strong! Because we planned on doing s'mores, there are no accelerates on this fire, it is au natural!)

We took Layla with us, she was very brave and wasn't worried about the fire at all! I have been trying to take her with us places to get her exposed to more people/places/etc.
This doesn't always work out well, as we took her on another trip when Unc shot off fireworks, that time she was NOT happy. Turns out though she does like Unc's bathroom!

When the fire calmed down a bit, we were able to do some s'mores! David likes the roasted marshmallows, the chocolate and the graham crackers - just not all at the same time. He places the melted mallow between the chocolate - and says parents added in the crackers to help cut down on the sugar intake.
Hailey (Unc's daughter) loved the marshmallows, loved throwing sticks in the fire and loved dancing around doing cartwheels. I think she enjoyed it more than anyone else.
Hope you have a chance to enjoy your day!
