Kristina told me all about this blog post she say where they were tie dying with ICE! I had to try it!

Wet your shirts and wad, tie, knot, etc. how you want them, and put them in a bucket or something to hold them. I opted not to use a rack and next time I will.

Cover the items to be dyed with ice. I only had three trays so added some crushed ice on top.

Turns out I only had 1 packet of yellow dye and one of purple - I did end up finding a 2nd purple. So this may not turn out exciting but I was already into it.

Sprinkle your dye right on top of the ice. I was using Tulip dye from a kit. Let sit for 12 - 24 hours.

Overall the shirts turned out pretty good. Sure wish I had more colors! I rinsed and washed all the shirts.

The one on top turned out the best, mostly purple with a small hint of purple.

The second purple one turned out pretty good too. The only odd thing is the spots of yellow are a weird color.

This one must have been in the corner, no yellow to speak of and the purple is very light. Still pretty but will re-dye this one with some more colors.

This one had a bit of both colors, and while pale, is still pretty nice. I will definitely re-dye this one with some more colors.

I mentioned I did not put a rack in and after several hours I noticed the bowl was filling up with melted ice and dye. So I poured it off into another bowl. The color of the dye was so pretty i decided to knot and add a shirt to it. As the other shirts had sucked up most of the dye, this shirt also turned out pretty pale but the design is nice.
